Alan attended the University College of Wales , Aberystwyth, where he obtained an honours degree in law. After completion of his professional studies, he joined the Company in 1988 and was the firm’s second articled clerk, qualifying as a solicitor in 1990. He became a partner in 1994.
Alan has overseen the development of the company’s substantial clinical negligence, ADR and personal injury practice. His expertise is reflected by his membership of the Law Society’s prestigious Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Panels, and he is a Fellow of the College of Personal Injury Lawyers (CPIL). He is also a panel solicitor for Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association – specialist organisations that advise and assist brain and spinal injury victims.
Alan is also a qualified and accredited mediator with the ADR Group and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
In March 2006, he achieved the Higher Rights of Audience accreditation, making him one of only a handful of solicitors in Hampshire who are able to appear on behalf of their clients in the High Court.

Outside of the Office
Alan is a keen surfer when he can find the time (and the surf!) and also enjoys oil painting, for which he is studying part-time at The Slade School of Fine Art. As a self-adopted Aussie, Alan’s ultimate plan is to find himself one day “down under” with his own beach pad overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In the interim, he visits as regularly as his busy workload permits
